I am a DONA International-trained birth doula and placenta encapsulator, serving Seattle and South King County. I am currently pursuing birth doula certification with both DONA International and PALS doulas, and always training to expand the services I offer. My work as a doula is grounded in my feminism* and a deep commitment to health and reproductive justice. I believe wholeheartedly that all people should have access to competent, consensual, & compassionate care.

I welcome all pregnancy and birth experiences, and am particularly energized to work with queer and trans individuals and families. I am also motivated to help improve access to doula care by offering low- and no-cost services to those who would benefit from them, and volunteer through Open Arms Perinatal Services and St. Joseph Medical Center.

All of my work is based in radical compassion and consent. My commitment is to honor your experience and respond to your needs without hesitation or judgement. I will help you to tap into your inner resources and self-advocate for your best possible experience.

BIRTH SUPPORT

During labor and birth, my focus as a doula is to honor the birthing person as a whole being, and to help them tap into their own power. I provide continual emotional, spiritual, physical, and informational support to laboring people and their birth partner(s).

My birth package includes:

  • A meet-and-greet
  • 2 pre-natal visits
  • Phone and email support from the time of hire through the end of our relationship
  • Access to my lending library of books
  • On-call guarantee from 37 weeks through 42 weeks
  • 2 post-partum visits
  • The peace of mind that comes with a pre-arranged back-up

PLACENTA ENCAPSULATION

Those who have consumed their placentas after birth report numerous benefits, including increased milk supply, an improved recovery period, and reduced symptoms of post-partum depression. For many, taking placenta pills is an essential ritual of post-birth self-care.

Using the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) method, I transform the placenta into pills for the birthing person’s consumption. This method of preparation retains some of the nutrients and hormones present in the placenta at the time of birth.

My placenta encapsulation package includes:

  • Pick-up of your placenta within 24 hours of birth
  • Processing of your placenta using the Traditional Chinese Medicine Method
  •  Drop-off at your home within 24-48 hours of pick-up
