A doula is trained to provide emotional, physical, and informational support to pregnant people and their families. At its best, this support is unconditional and accessible to all people who experience pregnancy and its many possible outcomes. I believe every person who becomes pregnant deserves a doula . . .
whether or not they choose to carry their pregnancy to term,
whether or not pregnancy and birth lead them to parenting,
however their bodies look and function,
and whatever their gender and family structure.
Check out my services to learn more about what I do. And if this kind of support appeals to you, please reach out to me. If I am not a good match, I will do my best to help you find just the right doula for you.
I am a DONA International Certified Birth Doula, serving Seattle and South King County. My work as a doula is grounded in my feminism and a deep commitment to health and reproductive justice. I believe wholeheartedly that all people should have access to competent, consensual, & compassionate care.
I welcome all pregnancy and birth experiences, and am particularly energized to work with queer and trans individuals and families. I am also motivated to help improve access to doula care by offering low- and no-cost services to those who would benefit from them, and volunteer through St. Joseph Medical Center.
During labor and birth, my focus as a doula is to honor the birthing person as a whole being, and to help them tap into their own power. I provide continual emotional, spiritual, physical, and informational support to laboring people and their birth partner(s).
